Privacy Policy for Mantra
Last updated: March 2026
Introduction
Mantra ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Mantra mobile application.
Information We Do Not Collect
Mantra does not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on our servers. We do not use analytics tools, advertising networks, or third-party SDKs that collect data from your device.
Information Stored on Your Device
The following data is stored only on your device and is not sent to us or any third party:
- Profile information: Name, date of birth, time and place of birth (used to generate your Vedic birth chart and personalized content).
- Practice data: Mantra counts, streak history, saved mantras, and day-activity completion.
- Preferences: Language, theme, and notification settings.
You can delete this data at any time by deleting the app from your device.
Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app may send you reminders (e.g., mantra of the day, daily tips). Notification delivery is handled by Apple's push notification service. We do not use notification content to track or identify you.
In-App Purchases
Purchases (subscriptions, lifetime access) are processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not receive your payment details. Apple may provide us with anonymized purchase information (e.g., that a subscription was renewed) for support and subscription management. For more on how Apple handles payments, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
App Groups and Widget
The app uses an App Group so that the widget can display information (e.g., mantra of the day) on your home screen. Data in the App Group stays on your device and is not transmitted off-device.
Children's Privacy
Mantra is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us and we will help remove it from the device.
Your Rights Under the CCPA and CPRA (California)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) give you certain rights regarding your personal information.
- We do not sell personal information. Mantra does not sell, rent, or share your personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising or any other purpose.
- We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for targeted advertising.
- We do not collect personal information off your device. The data you enter (name, birth details, practice data) is stored only on your device and is not collected by us. We therefore do not maintain categories or specific pieces of personal information that we have collected about you.
- Your rights: To the extent we ever hold personal information about you, you have the right to: know what personal information is collected; delete personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You may submit a request by contacting us at the email or phone number below. Because we do not collect personal information from the app, we do not maintain records to disclose or delete; you can delete all app data by uninstalling the app from your device.
Your Rights Under the GDPR (European Union and UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR give you rights regarding your personal data.
- Data we process: Mantra does not collect or process your personal data on our servers. Any data you enter (e.g., name, birth details, practice history) is stored only on your device. We do not act as a data controller for such device-stored data in the traditional sense, as we do not receive or process it.
- Legal basis: Where we have no access to your data, no processing by us occurs; where applicable law nevertheless treats us as responsible, we rely on your consent or our legitimate interests in providing the app.
- Your rights: You have the right to: access your personal data; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to processing; data portability; and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email or phone below. Because we do not hold your data on our systems, the most effective way to "erase" app data is to delete the app from your device. We will respond to any verifiable request within the timeframes required by applicable law (e.g., one month under GDPR).
- Complaints: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country of residence.
California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)
CalOPPA requires that we disclose how we respond to Do Not Track signals and what categories of personal information we collect.
- Do Not Track: Some browsers or devices support a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Our app does not track users across third-party websites or services. We do not collect personal information from your device for tracking purposes. We do not currently respond to DNT signals in a specific way because we do not engage in the type of tracking that DNT is designed to address.
- Disclosure of information collected: We do not collect personal information from users of the Mantra app. The information you enter (such as name, birth details, and practice data) remains on your device only. We do not collect categories of personal information such as identifiers, commercial information, or internet activity from the app.
- Notice of changes: We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy when we make material changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
